Sandoval, director of the Economic Analysis Program at UF's Bureau of Economic and Business Research, said that although inflation and gasoline prices have moderated recently, they remain elevated, labor market conditions have softened over the past year, and combined with geopolitical uncertainty and recent trade policy changes, these conditions explain the downward trajectory of consumer sentiment. ^[2] August marked the sixth consecutive month of declining consumer confidence among Florida residents. ^[3] Hector H.
