German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt stated on a press conference that Russia is responsible for the hybrid attack on the Leipzig/Halle airport in August. ^[1] The German government officially accused a Russian intelligence service of attempting to carry out a drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport in early August, marking the first time Berlin directly blamed Moscow for the incident. ^[2] Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called on Sept. 1 for a decisive strategy to counter Russian threats in Europe after Germany officially accused Moscow of attempting a drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport. ^[3] A drone carrying an explosive device was discovered by an employee of the Leipzig/Halle airport on the evening of August 4, near a Ukrainian Antonov aircraft. ^[4] Alexander Dobrindt claimed that Russian state organs authorized the attack by hiring so-called low-level agents who are not intelligence-trained but recruited by secret services. ^[5] Johann Wadephul stated that Germany will terminate the agreement with the Russian House in Berlin and tighten entry controls for Russian citizens. ^[6] Andrii Sybiha added that the reality is that Russia considers itself to be at war with Europe, even if Europe itself does not consider itself to be at war with Russia. ^[7] Andrii Sybiha warned that leaving such incidents unpunished would only fuel the aggressor's appetite and called for a strong response including additional sanctions. ^[8]
