Alexander Meza Medina, alias El Pocholo, a 19-year-old man, was ordered by a judge to be held in a prison facility following a request from a prosecutor at the Immediate Reaction Unit (URI) of the Bolívar Section. ^[1] The investigation concerns a shooting that occurred on August 8 in the La Candelaria neighborhood of Cartagena, where Meza Medina allegedly shot a 25-year-old man multiple times before fleeing the scene. ^[2] John Jairo Martínez Prada, a 25-year-old street vendor in the La Candelaria neighborhood of Cartagena, was shot and killed on the early morning of August 8. ^[3] National Police officers captured Alexander Meza Medina, and a firearm with five .38 caliber cartridges was found in his possession without proper permits. ^[4] The prosecutor has formally charged Alexander Meza Medina with homicide and the manufacturing, trafficking, carrying, or possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition. ^[5] Police captured the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Alexander Meza Medina alias 'Pocholo', during a chase that extended across several streets. ^[6] Witnesses told the National Police that a suspect known by the alias 'Pocholo' arrived on a motorcycle and fired multiple shots at Martínez Prada. ^[7]
