Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated on September 2, 2026, that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not content with the continuation of the war in Ukraine. ^[1] A high-level delegation from Africa visited the state of Karnataka, India, to discuss bilateral cooperation. ^[2] African governments have largely abdicated responsibility for financing and regulating assisted reproduction, leaving fertility care almost exclusively to private, for-profit providers. ^[3] Assisted reproductive technology (ART) is expanding at an unprecedented pace across Africa, with fertility clinics opening in countries where couples previously had to travel to Europe, India, or South Africa for treatment. ^[4] In the absence of comprehensive legislation, fertility specialists in many African countries determine their own standards of practice and ethical guidelines, effectively becoming their own regulators. ^[5] China launched the Global Governance Initiative (GGI) as a framework to strengthen multilateralism and make international governance more inclusive, equitable, and effective. ^[6] Erdogan said that both he and Vladimir Putin hope for the war to end soon through a peace agreement. ^[7] Erdogan stated that he and Putin discussed the situation in the Black Sea, where attacks on commercial ships, including Turkish vessels, have left dozens dead. ^[8] Erdogan told journalists that the war has not produced beneficial results for the region, the world, or the involved parties. ^[9] In the first seven months of 2026, China's value-added industrial output rose by 5.3 per cent year on year, while the service sector production index increased by 4.7 per cent. ^[10] Officials informed the delegation that Karnataka has made the Computer Literacy Test mandatory for government officials. ^[11] The delegation met with Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh on September 2, 2026. ^[12]
