President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that the federal government is launching an integral plan to address water access deficits in the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico. ^[1] President Sheinbaum stated the project will have an investment close to 25 billion pesos to deliver more water to Ecatepec, other eastern municipalities, Iztapalapa, northern Mexico City, Gustavo A. Madero, and Tlalpan. ^[2] The administration launched the Integral Plan for the Eastern Zone of the State of Mexico, which consists of implementing 121 actions across 10 municipalities including Ecatepec, Chalco, and Chimalhuacán. ^[3] Horacio Duarte Olivares, the general secretary of the Government of the State of Mexico, stated that the administration maintains dialogue and coordination with the Legislative and Judicial powers. ^[4] The water project includes works on Lago de Guadalupe, rehabilitation of an eastern water duct, and restoration of wells to change the distribution of potable water. ^[5] Governor Delfina Gomez Alvarez's governance model prioritizes listening to the population as a central element of the state administration. ^[6] The approved initiatives include reforms and actions related to health, animal welfare, anti-extortion, transparency, and personal data protection. ^[7] The local Congress approved 183 initiatives presented by Governor Delfina Gomez Alvarez. ^[8]
