Twenty children at the Fernando Valerio school in Villa González experienced stomach aches, vomiting, and diarrhea after consuming spoiled school milk. ^[1] Wilfredo Cabrera, director of the Fernando Valerio school in Villa González, Santiago, reported that the number of students affected by consuming chocolate milk for school breakfast increased from 22 to 68. ^[2] Sixty-eight students and several teachers in Villa González suffered stomach ailments after consuming chocolate milk for breakfast at the Fernando Valerio school. ^[3] Wilfredo Cabrera demanded that authorities change the milk supplier to prevent further health risks to the students. ^[4] Wilfredo Cabrera, the director of the Fernando Valerio school, confirmed that the students received immediate emergency attention and were hospitalized. ^[5] School director Wilfredo Cabrera stated that the school immediately suspended the milk product until the cause of the illness was determined. ^[6] The affected students were between 6 and 12 years old and presented symptoms including diarrhea, vomiting, dizziness, and stomach pain. ^[7] Medical teams from the National Institute for Student Welfare (Inabie) and the Ministry of Public Health arrived at the school to evaluate the situation and conduct investigations. ^[8]
