Twenty-two bodies were found on a road leading to a popular tourist destination in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula. ^[1] A tourist bus accident occurred on the road between Dahab and Nuweiba in Southern Sinai, Egypt, on September 2. ^[2] The Egyptian Ministry of Health reported that the accident resulted in at least 22 deaths and 28 injuries. ^[3] The bus transporting the passengers carried a total of 43 people, 22 of whom were Jordanian citizens. ^[4] The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, on a road in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. ^[5] Twenty-eight other individuals were found in the same area recovering from injuries sustained in a severe car accident. ^[6] According to Al Mamlaka, 22 Jordanian citizens were traveling on the bus involved in the accident. ^[7] Jordanian state media Al Mamlaka reported that 10 of the deceased were Jordanian citizens. ^[8] Abbas Araqchi also asked on X whether Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi is unaware that Arab airspace, land, and waters were used in the first American attacks that killed innocent Iranians. ^[9] Ayman Safadi said that the Iranian attacks on Jordan and Gulf states began hours after the start of the recent US war on Iran, although Jordan and other Arab countries were not party to the conflict and had worked to prevent its outbreak, according to Jordan's official Al Mamlaka channel. ^[10] Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi responded on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to recent criticism from Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi over Iranian attacks on Jordan and Gulf Cooperation Council states. ^[11] Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi wrote on X: 'How long does Jordan's foreign minister think Iran should wait before responding to an aggressor that does not respect Arab sovereignty or Iran's sovereignty?' ^[12]
