Guillermo Arias, the newly appointed electoral judge for the Province of Córdoba, will face his first institutional test on Sunday during the municipal elections in Marcos Juárez. ^[1] On Sunday, more than 24,000 residents of Marcos Juárez in Córdoba will vote for a new mayor from seven local lists, none of which carry a national party logo. ^[2] Guillermo Arias will act as the provincial second-instance judge, intervening only if decisions by the Municipal Electoral Board are challenged through reconsideration or appeal. ^[3] In the Marcos Juárez municipal election, 24,803 voters are eligible to elect a mayor, councilors, and members of the Accounts Tribunal. ^[4] The Municipal Electoral Board of Marcos Juárez, composed of three experienced lawyers, is responsible for organizing the election and resolving initial complaints, not Judge Arias. ^[5] Germán Font competes for 'Generación Marcos Juárez' with the tacit approval of the provincial Peronist government but without the official party logo on his ballot. ^[6] Pedro Dellarossa, who previously governed for two terms, heads the list 'Marcos Juárez Puede' after rejecting an alliance with La Libertad Avanza and failing to secure the PRO brand. ^[7] The election will use the Single Paper Ballot (BUP) system, replacing the traditional party ballot, with 71 voting tables distributed across seven schools. ^[8]
