Residents of the Mai-Gizo community in Angwan Shamaki, Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, are still waiting for electricity one year after former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso donated a transformer. ^[1] Parents in Wuro Auta, Gitata area of Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, have accused teachers at the Wuro Nomadic School of absenteeism and extortion. ^[2] Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State stated during an APC stakeholders' meeting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is fully aware of the hardship Nigerians are facing as a result of ongoing economic reforms. ^[3] Community leader Idris Bello said the one million Naira contribution was not enough to complete the project and that the state government has not yet provided the necessary funds. ^[4] The donated transformer remains uninstalled and lying on the ground in the Mai-Gizo community one year after the donation. ^[5] Governor Abdullahi Sule reported that foreign reserves in Nigeria have risen from under $30 billion to over $50 billion, and the capital market is now worth hundreds of trillions. ^[6] President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed governors to continue massive rural road construction and to provide water, power, and empowerment programs to help people in villages. ^[7] The Federal Government released $1 billion to relevant departments for direct interventions including rural infrastructure, water, power, and empowerment programs. ^[8] Abdullahi Sule quoted President Bola Tinubu as saying on 2026-06-25 that governors should invest more in basic infrastructure and empowerment to address the challenges. ^[9] Abdullahi Sule stated that foreign reserves had risen from below $30 billion to over $50 billion while the capital market expanded significantly, but ordinary Nigerians have not yet felt the impact. ^[10]
