Isabel Zuleta, a Colombian senator for the Pacto Histórico, said in a video shared on social media that Gustavo Petro remains the president of Colombia's popular class and that she does not accept the label 'former president' for him. ^[1] Sandra Forero, a councilor in Bogota, sent a formal letter to the Procuraduría General de la Nación requesting a disciplinary investigation against Senator Isabel Cristina Zuleta. ^[2] The investigation request is based on controversial remarks made by Zuleta, who claimed that Gustavo Petro is still the president of Colombia and that Abelardo De La Espriella stole the election. ^[3] Sandra Forero, a councilor from the Centro Democratico party in Bogota, sent a letter to Jaime Andrés Beltrán, the Minister of Housing, proposing a plan to boost the real estate sector and meet the national goal of one million homeowners. ^[4] Bogotá councilwoman Sandra Forero criticized Isabel Zuleta, calling her a danger to Colombian democracy, and announced she will ask the Procuraduría General de la Nación to act against Zuleta, who as a senator is subject to the ethical and disciplinary regime of Congress, and said that denying Abelardo de la Espriella and speaking of a false election theft fails her duties. ^[5] In the video, recorded at a meeting with leaders from southern Magdalena, Isabel Zuleta said that the rich have their own president, Abelardo de la Espriella, while she and her supporters have Gustavo Petro. ^[6] Isabel Zuleta asserted in the video that Abelardo de la Espriella stole the elections and therefore Gustavo Petro remains president of Colombia. ^[7] Senator Isabel Zuleta stated that she does not admit that Gustavo Petro is the former president and insists he remains the current president. ^[8] Sandra Forero stated that the current priority is to assist families affected by the earthquake while working to make the promise of one million homeowners a reality. ^[9] Since August 2022, more than 117,000 families have had to give up on purchasing social interest housing. ^[10] The Colombian housing sector has experienced twelve consecutive quarters of contraction, prompting the need for a policy reconstruction. ^[11]
