Brazilian mechanic Alfredo Moser invented the Moser lamp during Brazil's 2001 energy crisis, using a two-liter PET bottle filled with water and chlorine placed through a roof to refract sunlight and illuminate rooms without electricity. ^[1] Researchers provided evidence that routing-relevant states across layers share a common geometric structure obscured by layer-specific coordinate systems. ^[2] Sparse mixture-of-experts (MoE) models utilize an independently parameterized router at each sparse layer to select experts for every token. ^[3] A 2020 study reported that three bottles with water and chlorine produced 1,739 lux, exceeding the 300-500 lux typical of a well-lit office. ^[4] The Moser lamp works by refracting sunlight through water, distributing light across a room, unlike a simple hole in the roof that projects a point beam. ^[5] The NGO Liter of Light installed thousands of Moser lamps in poor neighborhoods in the Philippines, where sheet-metal houses remained dark during the day. ^[6] The study isolated the control subspace of each router and aligned these spaces into a shared canonical representation using generalized orthogonal Procrustes analysis. ^[7] The transported canonical states preserved local routing behavior and reduced negative log-likelihood by 15.7% on OLMoE and 6.2% over a 10-router horizon on Phi. ^[8]
