The Mexican government, through the Secretariat of Governance, launched the 24th edition of the national 'September, Will Month' campaign in 2026 in coordination with state governments and the national notary college. ^[1] The campaign aims to foster a culture of legal foresight and help Mexican families organize their assets to ensure legal certainty in the transmission of rights and real estate. ^[2] Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez, Secretary of the Interior of Mexico, said that the construction of peace begins from the family and that signing a will also begins that construction of peace because it prevents family conflicts. ^[3] The National Campaign 'September, Month of the Will' was launched on 2025-08-28 at Mexico's Secretariat of the Interior (Secretaría de Gobernación) with Secretary Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez. ^[4] The initiative involves active participation from the governments of all 32 federal entities and notary offices throughout the Mexican Republic. ^[5] To accommodate people working Monday through Friday, most notary offices in the country have enabled public attention on Saturdays. ^[6] The author argues that making a will is a preventive legal tool and a tool for family peace. ^[7]
