JetBlue unveiled its new BlueFirst domestic first-class cabin, featuring recliner seats made by Collins Aerospace that are the same model used in American Airlines' first-class cabins, with the cabin slated to debut later this year on aircraft without Mint. ^[1] JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty said in a statement that 'BlueFirst is our way of refreshing the experience for today's traveler.' ^[2] JetBlue will offer bento-inspired meal boxes with an entree, side, and dessert on flights of 899 miles or longer, with examples including sweet and savory crepes and sesame noodles with beef or tofu. ^[3] The BlueFirst rollout will place 12 seats (three rows) on Airbus A220 and A320 aircraft and 16 seats (four rows) on Airbus A321 aircraft, with the debut occurring before the end of 2026, a majority of planes equipped by the end of 2027, and retrofits completed by 2028. ^[4] JetBlue is introducing three fare tiers for BlueFirst: 'flex,' 'standard,' and 'base,' with base as a discount option that strips away perks like free seat selection. ^[5] JetBlue reported a 13% year-over-year increase in premium revenue per available seat mile in the second quarter, outpacing Main Cabin's 11% growth. ^[6] JetBlue said the BlueFirst seats feature Bluetooth connectivity, a 13.3-inch seatback screen, USB-A, USB-C, and 110VAC charging ports, up to 7 inches of extra legroom, and up to 5 inches of recline. ^[7]
