"prose": "A seven-year-old tribal girl identified as Madivi Jamuna died reportedly hours after she was administered a chloroquine tablet in Gollaguppa village, Polavaram district, Andhra Pradesh. [^1]\n\nA seven-year-old girl died and 53 others fell ill after being administered chloroquine tablets during a malaria prevention programme at Gollaguppa village in Yetapaka mandal of Andhra Pradesh's Polavaram district on Tuesday, officials said. [^2]\n\nAccording to an official release issued by the Public Relations Department, 28 villagers, mostly children, have been shifted to the Bhadrachalam government hospital where their health condition is out of danger. [^3]\n\nPersonnel from the Lakshmipuram Primary Health Centre administered chloroquine tablets to 71 people in the Gollaguppa village on Tuesday as a preventive measure following reports of malaria cases in the village. [^4]\n\nDoctors declared the girl dead by the time she reached Bhadrachalam Hospital after she was initially taken to Lakshmipuram hospital. [^5]\n\nPolavaram district collector K Dinesh Kumar said that health officials conducted a fever surveillance and medical camp in the village where a high number of malaria cases were reportedly detected before distributing chloroquine tablets based on age. [^6]\n\nPreliminary medical assessment suggested the girl may have had an underlying hereditary or familial cardiac condition, and doctors suspected chloroquine could have triggered cardiac arrhythmia in a person with such a pre-existing condition, although a definitive clinical conclusion is still awaited.
