Rostec reported that the powerplant of Russia's fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jet can withstand a temperature of 2,000 degrees Celsius while hovering. ^[1] Russia's state corporation Rostec stated that the Su-57 fighter jet's engine allows it to perform high-speed maneuvers to evade enemy missile attacks. ^[2] Rostec claimed the Su-57 is the world's only fifth-generation fighter that has proven its ability in a real combat environment to efficiently counter Western-made air defense systems. ^[3] Rostec stated that performing such complex and dangerous aerobatic maneuvers is of great practical importance because high maneuverability will allow the fighter to evade enemy missile attacks. ^[4] Test pilot Sergey Bogdan demonstrated the Su-57's capabilities at the Aero India airshow by performing maneuvers that required the engine to heat up to 2,000 degrees Celsius internally. ^[5] During the Aero India air show, test pilot Sergey Bogdan executed extreme flight figures that reached zero speed at an altitude of 600 meters. ^[6] Rostec noted that the Su-57's internal engine surfaces heat up to 2,000 degrees Celsius during these high-speed maneuvers. ^[7] Rostec claimed that good maneuverability provides an additional method for the Su-57 to evade enemy missiles. ^[8]
