Ben Gvir, a member of the far-right Jewish Power party, proposed expelling 250,000 Palestinians from Gaza within one year. ^[1] Itamar Ben Gvir, the Israeli National Security Minister, presented a plan on Thursday to evacuate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and send them abroad. ^[2] Gaza's Civil Defence Directorate said that 55 Palestinian bodies were recovered from the rubble of a building in Zeytun district that was destroyed by an Israeli airstrike in November 2023, and that more than 60 civilians had taken shelter there. ^[3] Muhammed Ebu Dan estimated that about 1,072 bodies remain under the rubble of 147 demolished buildings in Gaza, and search teams have been simultaneously continuing efforts to retrieve them. ^[4] The report says that since the 7 October 2023 events, tens of thousands of civilians, most being children, babies, and the elderly, have been killed in Gaza, the health system and hospitals have collapsed, and many patients cannot get treatment. ^[5] The remaining approximately two million inhabitants of the Gaza Strip would be relocated over the following six years. ^[6] Muhammed Ebu Dan called on all international institutions, organizations, and human rights groups to provide rescue machinery and logistical support, saying fuel and equipment shortages were severely limiting the recovery operations. ^[7] Ben Gvir claimed that several countries are willing to accept the deportees, though he did not specify which nations. ^[8]
