Turkey's fuel excise tax revenue collected from January to July 2026 fell by 34.4% year-on-year to 179 billion lira, compared to 273 billion lira in the same period of the previous year. ^[1] The Ministry of Finance of Pakistan announced on Thursday that the country raised a record $3 billion through a dual-tranche Eurobond sale, marking its single largest international capital market transaction. ^[2] The Ministry of Finance of Vietnam reported that cumulative budget revenue for the first eight months of 2026 is estimated at 2.0238 quadrillion VND, achieving 80% of the budget plan and a 16% increase compared to the same period in 2025. ^[3] PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero), known as PT SMI, reported cumulative financing commitments of Rp294.5 trillion (approximately US$16.55 billion) since its inception. ^[4] Effective from August 1, 2026, an automatic 3 lira excise tax increase was initiated for diesel, resulting in a 3.6 lira increase in pump prices including VAT. ^[5] Fuel excise tax revenue dropped by 81.1% in April and 89.3% in May, reaching a yearly low of 4.432 billion lira in May 2026. ^[6] Monthly fuel excise tax collections began at 50 billion lira but declined to 6.8 billion lira in April, 4.4 billion lira in May, and 7.4 billion lira in July 2026. ^[7] The $3 billion issuance consists of a $1.75 billion tranche with a 5.5-year maturity at a 7.5% coupon rate and a $1.25 billion tranche with a 10-year maturity at a 7.9% coupon rate. ^[8] The transaction attracted nearly $6 billion in orders from a broad and diversified base of institutional investors across global markets and continents. ^[9] August 2026 budget revenue is estimated at nearly 150.4 quadrillion VND, equivalent to about 6% of the monthly budget plan, showing signs of slowing down compared to the previous seven months. ^[10] Fiscal policies supporting citizens and businesses were implemented, with total tax, fee, and land rent exemptions, reductions, and extensions in the first eight months of 2026 amounting to approximately 209.2 quadrillion VND. ^[11] PT SMI's renewable energy portfolio reached Rp38.3 trillion (approximately USD 2.15 billion) across 91 projects in H1 2026, more than doubling the Rp18.4 trillion recorded in 2023. ^[12]
