Brig Gen Raja Ram Basnet, spokesperson for the Nepal army, confirmed that two workers were pulled alive from the Trishuli 3A hydropower tunnel nine days after deadly floods. ^[1] The flood has so far killed 1,254 people and left more than 4,000 missing, with search and rescue operations ongoing. ^[2] Kabir Maharjan, identified as a supervisor, was the second worker rescued from the tunnel. ^[3] Nepal's disaster management agency reported that at least 1,287 people were killed in the floods and more than 5,000 remain missing. ^[4] The two workers were rescued from a depth of 170 meters inside the tunnel, according to army spokesperson Brig Gen Raja Ram Basnet. ^[5] Shri Ram Neupane, a Nepalese Member of Parliament, announced on social media that two workers who had been trapped in the Trishuli 3A Hydroelectric Project tunnel since 2026-08-26 had been rescued. ^[6] The flood in Nepal's Rasuwa district on 2026-08-26 destroyed dozens of bridges and damaged roads, and helicopters were deployed for search and rescue operations. ^[7] The Independent Power Producers' Association estimated that 115 workers were trapped in the tunnel of the Trishuli 3A Hydroelectric Project. ^[8]
