President Abelardo de la Espriella signed Resolution 379 dissolving the dialogue table with criminal leaders of the Valle de Aburrá that had been installed by former President Gustavo Petro. ^[1] One month into Abelardo De La Espriella's presidency in Colombia, several leaders of the left-wing coalition Pacto Histórico publicly criticized his administration for doing in security matters what former President Gustavo Petro did not do during four years in office. ^[2] President Abelardo De La Espriella defended his security record, stating that he is fulfilling his promise to confront terrorism without exception and that he did not come to negotiate with wanting assassins, extortionists, and minor recruiters, using the legitimate force of the state and the rule of law. ^[3] Senator Isabel Cristina Zuleta of the Pacto Histórico criticized President Abelardo De La Espriella over military operations against armed groups, called for a right to die and defended the moribund families, and questioned the government for ending peace talks with armed groups in Antioquia. ^[4] Colombia's Fiscalía reactivated capture orders against 46 leaders of armed groups after the dialogues ended. ^[5] Medellín mayor Federico Gutiérrez said the measure puts things in order and ends what he called the 'misnamed total peace' that supported criminal structures. ^[6] Resolution 379 revokes the peace-spokesperson status of 23 criminal leaders of the Valle de Aburrá, including alias 'Douglas', 'Lindolfo', alias 'Tom', 'Vallejo' and 'Carlos Pesebre'. ^[7] Minister of the Interior Rodrigo Lara of the De La Espriella government accused groups associated with the first line, defended by ex-president Petro, of interfering with firefighting operations in the Tolima wildfires. ^[8]
