Range Rover officially launched the Range Rover Electric, its first all-electric SUV, in Taiwan on September 2, 2026. ^[1] Jaguar Land Rover unveiled the Range Rover Electric, the brand's first all-electric model, more than half a century after the original luxury SUV was introduced. ^[2] Land Rover has unveiled its first all-electric Range Rover, built on a dedicated platform, with order books now open. ^[3] The Range Rover Electric features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with a maximum output of 550 horsepower. ^[4] The Range Rover Electric is available in three trim levels: SE, Autobiography, and SV. ^[5] The vehicle is equipped with a 118.5 kWh battery pack that provides a maximum range of 600 kilometers. ^[6] The new double-stack lithium-ion battery has a usable capacity of 118.5 kWh and consists of 344 prismatic cells. ^[7] The Range Rover Electric features a double-stacked 118.5-kWh battery with 800-volt split-charging technology that can recharge from 10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes. ^[8] Jaguar Land Rover provided flights from Washington, DC, to London and accommodation for Ars Technica to visit its factory and drive the 2027 Range Rover Electric. ^[9] Jaguar Land Rover reported that it already has 80,000 hand-raisers for the 2027 Range Rover Electric. ^[10] The 2027 Range Rover Electric is a new battery-electric vehicle variant that sits alongside the internal combustion and plug-in hybrid Range Rovers. ^[11] In South Africa, the new Range Rover Electric is priced from R3,916,800 for the SWB EV550 HSE, rising to R6,035,000 for the flagship LWB EV550 SV Ultra. ^[12]
