Florida consumer sentiment declined for the sixth consecutive month to 67.4 in August, down 1.9 points from a revised July reading of 69.3. ^[1] Expectations for U.S. economic conditions over the next year fell 3.1 points from 68.5 to 65.4, while expectations for the next five years decreased 2.6 points from 72.2 to 69.6. ^[2] Hector H. Sandoval said that consumer sentiment deteriorated primarily due to Floridians' expectations for the national economy, particularly in the short run. ^[3] Hector H.
