According to UNGRD Report 54 as of August 28, 2026, there are 331 deaths, 4,450 injuries, and 152 missing people. ^[1] The Colombian government issued Decree 1348 on August 31, 2026, signed by the president and the entire cabinet, to modify the territorial scope of the state of emergency declared after the August 10, 2026 earthquake. ^[2] The Colombian government modified the territorial scope of the national economic emergency declared to address the consequences of the earthquake that occurred on August 10. ^[3] Decree 1348 included the departments of Caquetá and Santander in the emergency zone and excluded the department of Putumayo. ^[4] The state of emergency covers 16 departments including Antioquia, Bolívar, Caldas, Caquetá, Cauca, Chocó, Cundinamarca, Huila, Nariño, Norte de Santander, Quindío, Risaralda, Santander, Sucre, Tolima, and Valle del Cauca. ^[5] Consequently, the department of Putumayo was removed from the list of areas covered by the emergency measures. ^[6] New reports identified damages in Santander and Caquetá associated with the earthquake, leading to their inclusion in the emergency zone. ^[7] The National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD) reported that damages recorded in Putumayo were not related to the earthquake of August 10. ^[8]
