Daejeon city held a meeting with labor union representatives of seven public institutions that wish to relocate to Daejeon, to discuss cooperation for attracting the second round of public institution relocation from the Seoul metropolitan area. ^[1] 70.7 percent of all respondents said they support a policy restricting social media use by teenagers, while 29.3 percent oppose it. ^[2] Among teen respondents who accounted for one-fifth of the total, 59 percent said they oppose the plan while 41 percent support it. ^[3] The Korea Press Foundation conducted a poll on 1,000 South Korean respondents aged 14 to 58 regarding social media restrictions for teenagers. ^[4] Daejeon has 27 government-funded research institutes, 7 educational institutions including KAIST, 11 other research institutions, and companies, with a research workforce of 99,715 and venture investment of 391.3 billion won, the highest among non-capital regions. ^[5] Participants at the meeting agreed that Daejeon is suitable as a relocation site because it has government-funded research institutes, science and technology infrastructure, and R&D, industry, and talent resources. ^[6] The seven institutions seeking relocation to Daejeon are the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute, Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement, Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning, Korea Institute of Marine Science & Technology Promotion, Korea Press Foundation, and National Green Technology Research Institute. ^[7] When asked about the appropriate age for restrictions, 16.8 percent of respondents picked age 15, followed by 14.9 percent who picked age 18. ^[8]
