In a statement, a group of UN experts demanded that the United States stop military operations against vessels in international waters in the Caribbean and Pacific, which they described as 'killings at sea'. ^[1] Senior US military leaders warned the Pentagon that prolonging the war with Iran is unsustainable and will degrade military readiness in other theaters of operation. ^[2] Dan Driscoll has resigned from the United States Army. ^[3] AZAK signed an Other Transaction Agreement with the U.S. Army's Global Tactical Edge Acquisition Directorate (G-TEAD) after soldiers tested its wheel-centric unmanned ground vehicle in the field. ^[4] According to the UN's official website, since September 2, 2025, the US Army has attacked a total of 68 boats in high seas, with fatal outcomes in most cases and missing persons in others. ^[5] The UN experts called the deaths extrajudicial executions and said US authorities indicated they prefer not to intercept vessels but to use direct attacks, and that the US fails to rescue survivors. ^[6] The UN experts rejected Washington's legal justification that the vessels carried drugs for organizations considered terrorist under US law, saying the military response has no place in international law and violates the right to life. ^[7] The US military has used practically all of its inventory of some precision missiles, according to Reuters reporting in August. ^[8] US military chiefs warned Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth in a written assessment that extending the war is unsustainable and will erode military preparation in other theaters. ^[9] White House advisors are pressuring the administration to avoid intensifying the war with Iran before the November legislative elections to prevent Republican electoral losses. ^[10] AZAK demonstrated a 227 kg robot towing a 24,040 kg Army truck, plus an additional 454 kg of ammunition, resulting in a combined load more than 100 times the robot's own weight. ^[11] G-TEAD, established in late 2025, is an Army directorate built to move new technology from demonstration to fielded units in as little as 180 days using Other Transaction Agreements. ^[12]
