Mateo Bonolly González, a product design engineering student at ITM (Instituto Tecnológico Metropolitano) in Medellín, developed a low-cost electric bicycle designed for the road and topographical conditions of Medellín and the Valle de Aburrá. ^[1] The bicycle's frame is conceived to withstand torsional forces and possible impacts, aiming to reduce failure risk and improve cyclist safety during abrupt traffic maneuvers. ^[2] The initiative generates four direct jobs and seeks to become a clean, accessible mobility alternative contributing to reduced travel times, traffic, and pollution. ^[3] The project began in the family garage of 19-year-old Mateo Bonolly González and leverages his grandfather's metallurgical experience and his sporting background to design a frame that offers mechanical resistance using minimal material. ^[4] The project began four years ago with the goal of solving mobility difficulties in the city by creating a vehicle that is easy to use and non-polluting. ^[5] The venture currently generates four direct jobs and aspires to consolidate in the market as an alternative for sustainable mobility. ^[6] Mateo Bonolly González stated that he is deeply motivated to see people use the bicycles functionally in their daily routines to optimize time and save money. ^[7]
