Jurors in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy notified Judge William Sullivan on Tuesday that they are unable to reach a unanimous decision on whether to convict her. ^[1] Lindsay Clancy, a 36-year-old former labor and delivery nurse, is accused of strangling her three children-Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and 8-month-old Callan-to death in January 2023. ^[2] Lindsay Clancy, 36, is charged with first-degree murder for strangling her three children-Cora, Dawson, and Callan-using exercise bands in the basement of her home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, on January 24, 2023. ^[3] Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinic director and current pro-life advocate, warned against 'misguided compassion' and 'conspiracy rot' regarding the Lindsay Clancy trial. ^[4] Patrick Clancy testified that upon returning home, he found his wife lying on the ground with cuts on her wrists and neck before discovering the children with exercise bands tied around their necks. ^[5] Prosecutors presented evidence that Clancy mapped the time it would take her husband, Patrick Clancy, to return home on her phone shortly before the killings to ensure he would not witness the event. ^[6] The trial has entered its fourth day of deliberations and began nearly six weeks ago in Plymouth, Massachusetts. ^[7] Clancy's defense attorney argued she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time of the murders, while prosecutors argued she planned the killings and attempted suicide. ^[8] Johnson criticized the public for inventing conspiracy theories, such as the idea that Clancy's husband or someone else committed the murders, because they cannot believe a mother would do it. ^[9]
