Reuters reported on 2026 that TCL, a Chinese TV maker, filed a lawsuit against Samsung Electronics in the US Central District Court of California, seeking an injunction against Mini LED technology labeling and monetary damages. ^[1] TCL launched the Tab A1 NXTPAPER, an 11-inch Android tablet, in the United States. ^[2] A lawyer for TCL said that Samsung's false advertising misled consumers who wanted the high definition of Mini LED TVs into purchasing products with false labels, and unfairly damaged TCL's sales, reputation, and valuable technology. ^[3] In its complaint, TCL claimed that Samsung Electronics took cheaper models from its existing product line and sold them to consumers as Mini LED models at attractive prices. ^[4] TCL specifically alleged that Samsung's current M-model TVs are advertised as using Mini LED technology but actually contain none of the technological advancements of Mini LED and are merely rehashed regular LED TVs. ^[5] The TCL Tab A1 NXTPAPER features an 11-inch display with a 2,112 x 1,320 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. ^[6] The TCL Tab A1 NXTPAPER has a recommended price of $299.99, but it is currently being sold for $249.99 on Amazon and TCL's website. ^[7] The TCL Tab A1 NXTPAPER's NXTPAPER coating reduces glare, reflections, and blue light, and the tablet offers an Ink Paper Mode for an E-Ink-like appearance. ^[8]
