Colombian authorities identified Contreras as a member of the structure that planned the February 11, 2026, attack on businessman Gustavo Aponte and his bodyguard in Chapinero, Bogota. ^[1] Jherson Leonardo Contreras, alias 'Bam Bam' or 'Tatán', was detained at Bogota's El Dorado International Airport on September 2, 2026, while attempting to travel to Lima, Peru. ^[2] The Bogotá Tourism Office implemented Tourist Information Points (PIT) to facilitate the experience for visitors arriving in the capital. ^[3] Investigators stated that Contreras performed surveillance and tracking duties prior to the homicide and helped create an instant messaging group used to coordinate actions before the attack. ^[4] The Fiscalía announced that charges of aggravated homicide and aggravated manufacturing, trafficking, and possession of firearms will be filed against Contreras in the coming hours. ^[5] Five Tourist Information Points are currently located at Monserrate, the Botanical Garden, the International Center, El Dorado International Airport, and the Ciudad Salitre Transport Terminal. ^[6] Tourists can receive personalized guidance on planning their visit, including information on attractions, cultural tours, events, gastronomy, accommodation, shopping, entertainment, and mobility alternatives. ^[7] The PIT at the Botanical Garden José Celestino Mutis is located in the Visitor Attention Center (CAV) at Calle 63 # 68-95 and operates from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. ^[8]
