Colombian military forces executed an aerial and ground operation in the rural municipality of El Retorno, Guaviare, resulting in the death of ten individuals, including three minors. ^[1] Luz Adriana Camargo, the Attorney General of Colombia, signed a resolution on September 1, 2026, lifting the suspension of the arrest warrant against Alexander Díaz Mendoza, alias Calarcá. ^[2] The Colombian Attorney General's Office reactivated arrest warrants against Alexander Díaz Mendoza, alias 'Calarcá', and 45 other members of armed groups via Resolution 0-0263. ^[3] Authorities seized an arsenal including 19 rifles, 7 machine guns, 184 anti-personnel mines, 20 drone grenades, and more than 29,000 rounds of ammunition. ^[4] The National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences confirmed the death toll of ten people, identifying nine bodies while one remains under forensic analysis due to its condition. ^[5] The operation, named 'Operation Amón', targeted camps belonging to the Jorge Suárez Briceño Block (Isaías Pardo structure) of the FARC dissidents under the command of Alexander Díaz Mendoza, alias Calarcá. ^[6] Fiscal Raúl Flechas stated that the investigation includes the assassination of six peace signatories and confrontations in the Guaviare department, including a massacre in Cubay with over 20 deaths. ^[7] The Fiscalía General de la Nación reactivated 27 arrest warrants against leaders of the FARC dissidents, including aliases Andrey Avendaño, John Mechas, Walter Mendoza, and Leopoldo. ^[8] President Abelardo de la Espriella ended negotiation spaces with these armed groups through nine resolutions, stating that none of the three groups showed a willingness for peace. ^[9] The reactivated warrants target members of the dissident faction of the Estado Mayor de Bloques y Frentes (Embf), the Coordinadora Nacional Ejército Bolivariano (Cneb), and the Autodefensas Conquistadoras de la Sierra Nevada (Acsn). ^[10] The government withdrew its representative from the negotiation tables with the autodenominado Estado Mayor de los Bloques Magdalena Medio (Embf) after removing the negotiating status of several delegates. ^[11]
