Karla Medina Angelí, the director of the Youth Development Program (PDJ), stated that the Juvempleo program will fully subsidize wages at a rate of $15.00 per hour for a maximum of 950 hours or six months. ^[1] The Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC) in Puerto Rico opened a new call for applications for the Juvempleo program on Tuesday, targeting young people between the ages of 18 and 29 who are in their final academic year or have recently graduated. ^[2] Governor Jenniffer González Colón and Department of Economic Development and Commerce Secretary Carlos J. Ríos Pierluisi called on young people and employers to participate in the Juvempleo program. ^[3] Eligible candidates must be at the associate, bachelor's, master's, or doctoral level, and if they have graduated, they must not have passed 12 months since their graduation. ^[4] The program aims to provide work experience for at least 200 young people within their field of study. ^[5] The budget for the Juvempleo program increased to $2,850,000 for the new fiscal year, up from $1,995,000 the previous year. ^[6] The program provides a wage subsidy of $15 per hour to participants for a maximum of 950 hours or six months. ^[7]
