Hill Hall Hotel opened on August 28, 2026, in Fayetteville, West Virginia, occupying the town's former high school and middle school buildings. ^[1] The Hill Hall Hotel, a 40-room boutique hotel, reopened in downtown Fayetteville, West Virginia, after the historic campus had been closed to the public for more than a decade. ^[2] The hotel is located at 135 High St. in downtown Fayetteville, W.Va., near New River Gorge National Park, and is a member of Design Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy. ^[3] The restored campus includes 40 guest rooms, Patsy's restaurant, Patsy's Provisions guest pantry, lounges, and reading spaces. ^[4] Stephen Wendell, founder and chief executive officer of Mountain Shore Properties, led the decision to buy and restore the abandoned school. ^[5] The campus served local students for more than 70 years before school consolidation plans led to the main building's closure in 1999, and the entire complex was closed in 2014. ^[6] The original high school building was constructed in 1923 by Italian stonemasons who had moved from Piedicavallo, Italy, to Fayette County. ^[7] Executive Chef Jeffrey Toth and Sous Chef Paul Almond lead the restaurant, Patsy's. ^[8]
