The Green Jobs Alliance officially launched in Urabá, Colombia, following a two-day territorial agenda focused on productive infrastructure, logistics, and biotechnology. ^[1] María Fernanda Santa, Vice Minister of Infrastructure of the Ministry of Transport, announced the creation of a 'railway table' to structure work with the private sector and regional leaders. ^[2] The first national railway summit was held on September 1, 2026, in Boyacá, Colombia, to discuss expanding the rail network to move approximately 22 million passengers annually between Bogotá and Boyacá. ^[3] The alliance plans to promote integral work training, certification of competencies, labor intermediation, and strengthening of employment ecosystems in 28 municipalities across Antioquia, Caldas, and Valle del Cauca. ^[4] The Green Jobs Alliance contemplates an investment of over 3.3 million euros, which is approximately $15.000 million, to be implemented by multiple foundations including Berta Martínez, Conconcreto, GreenLand, Haceb, HIAS Colombia, Imusa Samurai, Mineros S.A., and Uniban. ^[5] The program's main goals include training 2,000 people for work and employability, granting 1,500 certifications, achieving 1,100 effective job insertions, and consolidating 415 sustainable jobs with a permanence of more than six months. ^[6] Panelists established as a priority that railway construction should be territorial before national to guide the process according to the conditions of each department. ^[7] The government plans to activate this table to sit with the private sector and define a clear roadmap for the railway system's future direction. ^[8]
