Disney World confirmed via an official notice that the Art of Animation Resort will undergo a room refurbishment from mid-June 2027 through October 2028. ^[1] Walt Disney World announced on an unspecified date that the Disney Skyliner gondola system will close for routine refurbishment from January 24 through February 2, 2028. ^[2] The refurbishment project will last approximately 16 months and is described as a hard goods refresh involving all-new furniture and fixtures rather than a cosmetic touch-up. ^[3] The refurbishment will move through the resort's four distinct themed sections: Finding Nemo family suites, Cars family suites, The Lion King family suites, and The Little Mermaid standard rooms. ^[4] The resort is expected to remain open throughout the project, with construction work proceeding one themed area at a time to keep the property bookable. ^[5] Complimentary bus transportation will be provided at all seven affected resorts and stations during the Disney Skyliner closure. ^[6] The closure affects the full Disney Skyliner network, including Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Inn, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort, and Disney's Riviera Resort. ^[7]
